APETT'S Various Committees

Council establishes committees to carry out the various activities of the Association. The standard committees include:
To assess membership applications and make recommendations to Council, and to assist in the ongoing review of the Association's membership requirements.
To establish, formulate and disseminate the Association's policy on matters of education and training.
To organize the Association's Annual Technical conference.
To publish the Association's Journal. This is a reference technical journal.
To develop career guidance programmes and material, and to carry out career guidance for the Association.
To publish the Association's newsletter, PEN, which is the primary channel of regular communication between the Council and the members of the Association.
To consider matters relating to professional ethics which are brought to the Association for resolution.
To advise Council on matters relating to the Constitution, including the framing of constitutional changes to give effect to the wishes of the membership as expressed at general meetings.
To initiate and coordinate the Association's response to public issues affecting the engineering profession.
To address matters relating to public safety which are brought to the attention of the Association.
To develop strategies and programmes aimed at attracting members to the Association.
