The Institute of Surveyors of Trinidad and Tobago (ISTT) was established as a non-governmental organisation in 1996 upon the amalgamation of the Land Surveyors Association of Trinidad and Tobago (1948), The Quantity Surveyors' Society of Trinidad and Tobago (1963) and ProVal (the Association of the Valuation Surveyors) (1975). The Institute plays a pivotal role in providing the Minister with responsibility for Lands and Land Surveying with advice on several types of nominees that enable the enactment of the Land Surveyors Act 33 of 1996 (Act) and serves as the main stakeholder representing local surveying professionals and provides training, dissemination of information to the public and advice to both surveyors and the public.
The Trinidad and Tobago Contractors Association (TTCA) was founded in 1968 by visionaries Mr. Granville Johnson, Mr. McDonald Murrell, Mr. Lepold Arthur and Mr. Emile Elias. The Association is a medium through which members and the greater society benefits from construction related training and adherence to agreed to standards by members. The TTCA lobbies for issues affecting contractors and continuously pursues the various publics for the improvement and development of the sector.

The Association of Professional Engineers recognizes a number of other organizations which have major roles in engineering activities and the development of engineering in Trinidad & Tobago. These are referred to as Kindred Organizations. In addition there are a number of Umbrella Organizations to which APETT belongs as well as Institutional Partnerships (MOUs / AOC).
The Group of Professional Associations exists to coordinate the activities of the member Association in he common interest of these Associations. Chief among these is the operation and ongoing development of the Professional Center.
This umbrella organization embraces a number of organizations with special interest in the construction industry. APETT is a founding member of this organization.
APETT is a founding constituent member of the CCEO, which was established in 1969. The objectives of CCEO include the establishment of professional engineering organizations where they do not already exist in the Caribbean region, and the promotion and protection of the interests of member organizations.
